Hello to you all...

The winter solstice has come and gone, marking the slow return of the growing season, and we are starting to get a few more eggs each day.

A chicken lays about one egg each day depending on a number of factors like food consumption, temperature, and health.

The most important influence on this process is the number of hours of sunlight each day. Battery chickens have a lighting program to fool them into laying more. We do it naturally.... so we have hopefully now passed the lowest egg laying period.. hopefully..

We should be celebrating the middle of winter, yet I am scorching out in the field today!

The weather is JUST Weird. (weird like my favourite leprechaun :-))
